Description of patient organisation
Das Polyzystische Ovarsyndrom (PCOS) ist eine der häufigsten endokrinen Erkrankungen (ca. 1 Million betroffene Frauen in Deutschland) und besitzt kaum eine Patienten-Lobby. Durch das Projekt der Uni-Klinik Essen, unterstützt vom BKK Bundesverband, konnten in den letzten Jahren schon viele Schritte gemacht werden. In den Selbsthilfegruppen vor Ort wird den Betroffenen Austausch, Hilfe, Halt und schnelle Information geboten. Der Verein will diese „Schätze“ an Erfahrungen und Wissen, die jede Gruppe für sich mit jedem Gruppenabend gewinnt, für alle PCOS Betroffenen bündeln und bereitstellen.
